City of udupi
The name Udupi sounds quite familiar with the south Indians. It brings to the mind the "Udupi Krishna" or "Udupi Masala Dosa". Equally famous for both, Udupi is the city as well as the headquarters of the Udupi District, Karnataka State, India. Situated about 60 Kms north of Mangalore, Udupi, considered to be one of the holiest places for pilgrimage in southern India, is the abode of Lord Krishna. Krishna Temple finds its place among the temples like ISCKON , Guruvayoor , Dwarkadhish, Dwarka, Mathura Temples, Vrindava Temples- all dedicated to Lord Krishna.

The nearest airports are at Mangalore that is 60 kms from Udupi and Bangalore which is 381 kms from Udupi. Mangalore is connected with Bangalore and Mumbai.
Railway route:
The railway station at Udupi falls on the Konkan Railway network. From the station, you can get bus or taxi for travelling to Udupi. There are plenty of trains from Mangalore.
Bus route:
:Udupi is well connected with other neighboring cities by Karnataka Road Transport Corporation buses. Regular bus services are available from Mangalore to Udupi. |
