This year it falls on the 4th of March, 2019.  It is considered to be one the auspicious day to worship the Lord of the Lords, Mahadev also referred as Lord Shiva in the Hindu Mythology. There is a religious custom of fasting on this day. After dawn, the fast is called of by consuming various kinds of juices and fruits. The whole night is dedicated to performing various activities to stay awake. Any form of cooked food is to be consumed only the next day.
